You may be considering or wanting to offer your customers a buy now, pay later option and a convenient way to pay over time for their purchases of your products. Well, there's a good news! Kulturra has developed an integration with Affirm as a new payment method in Payment Center.

What is Affirm and what do they do?

Affirm is a FinTech company that operates as a lender of installment loans for customers to use at the point of sale to finance a purchase. 

How it works:

When a customer chooses to pay with Affirm, during the checkout process, the customer can choose a payment option that suits their budget.

How to set it up:

A new processor should be created to enable Affirm. To do that:

  1. Go to Payment Center Settings
  2. Under Payment Processors, click New
  3. In the Processor field, select Affirm
  4. Enter Public Key and Private Key. Your API keys are available in your Merchant Portal. If you do not have access to the Dashboard, you may contact your Affirm account’s owner and request to be added.
  5. Click Save button

Enabling Affirm:

     1. In Payment Center Settings, under Payment Options section, tick Affirm checkbox
     2. Select your Affirm Processor
     3. Click Save button

 

Processing payment with Affirm

In the invoice email that will be sent to the customer, there is an option to Pay online (using Credit Card or eCheck) or Pay with Affirm. 

Note: To use Affirm, the Invoice should have a Contact with a valid Email Address and Phone Number and Account with Billing Address.

 

When Pay With Affirm is selected, Affirm window will be displayed to verify the customer.

 

Once verified, the customer can select the best Payment Option for his/her purchase.

 

The customer can then review the payment plan and confirm.

 

 

And then a confirmation message will be displayed on the screen for successful purchase.

Enabling Affirm in an Entity:

     1. In Payment Center Settings, create or edit an entity
     2. Tick Enable Affirm checkbox
     3. Select your Affirm Processor
     4. Click Save button
